A steering committee was formed in the fall of 2016 called Voices for Education (VFE). Made up of students, teachers, school administrators, community members, and school board representatives, VFE is in the process of being actively involved in helping to facilitate dialogue and other engagement opportunities to help the EWSD. The Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services for the US Department of Education visited EWSD on September 12.
Beginning on the first day of school for Essex High School, the District will be providing busing for those high school students historically served and not living within a half-mile walking path radius of Green Mountain Transit (GMT) routes # 2 and # 4.
