Pre-Kindergarten at EWSD Elementary Schools

The Essex Westford School District offers school-based pre-Kindergarten programs at Essex Elementary School, Hiawatha Elementary School, Summit Street School, and Westford School.
Space is limited in our school-based programs, and placement is determined by a lottery draw each spring.2017-2018 School Year

2018-2019 School Year
- The window for requesting a 2018-2019 pre-K slot is now closed. A lottery draw was held in March 2018, and registration materials have been mailed to families.

Universal Pre-K/Act 166 Funding

Families may register their eligible children to receive Act 166 funding.
This funding will cover 10 hours/week of pre-K tuition at qualified programs throughout our community.

- Registration for Act 166 is open and on-going for the 2017-2018 school year. Students with birth dates ranging from September 2, 2012 to September 1, 2014 are eligible to register.

- Act 166 fund distribution for the 2017-2018 school year is pro-rated based on a September 1, 2017 start date.
2018-2019 School Year
- Registration is now open for the 2018-2019 school year. Students with birth dates ranging from September 2, 2013 to September 1, 2015 are eligible to register.

- Act 166 fund distribution for the 2018-2019 school year is pro-rated based on a September 1, 2018 start date.
- Remember: if you currently receive Act 166 funding through EWSD, you do not need to re-apply!
