The Peer Helpers of Essex High School will be offering summer tours to new students starting at EHS in the fall. This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the building and ask questions. If you would like a tour, please sign up using this link. EHS Students, Justin Lee, Grace Lu, Elizabeth Messier, Isabelle Petrucci, Henry Wu and Nathan Wu of the Essex High School Orchestra were selected by audition to perform with the 100 member Festival Orchestra at the New England Music Festival, March 21st-23rd.
EHS will represent Vermont in the 2019 New England Drama Festival, hosted by the New England Drama Council (NEDC) and the Rhode Island Theatre Education Association (RITEA), April 15-17. EHS was chosen by the Vermont Drama Council as one of two representatives for the state to the New England festival. Essex performs Frankenstein, the famous thriller about the creation of a monster creature.
EHS Japanese II Students Win 1st Place in State Online Japanese Contest!
Congratulations! Sara Foster, Lisa Carter, Hiro Hayden, Beverley Boisvert, and Emma Bemis won the 1st Place in high school division -- the 8th Vermont annual Japanese Contest.
Congratulations to Maddie Audy on receiving the 2019 Principal's Award. Each year a senior is honored for overcoming obstacles in their high school experience while maintaining excellent progress in their academics. The 2019 Principal's award recipient is Maddie Audy.
The Essex HS Scholars' Bowl team completed a great season on 3/31/19. The team of Henry Wu, Nathan Wu, Grace Lu, Peregrine Ibarra, Sam Evans and Anders Holm-Brown defeated teams from Windsor (370-170) and Burr and Burton (460-255) to make it to the state quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion, Burlington HS (350-315) in a match that was close throughout. The team went 13-6 in overall state competition, and 38-18 in all its matches this year. The team is coached by David Rome.
The Vermont Agency of Education has released the state’s first annual Snapshot, an online tool that shows quantitative data for several indicators of school performance.
