  • Who We Are

We maintain a “team” approach as we work with students, parents/guardians, sending school counselors, CTE administrators, CTE program teachers and academic teachers, as well as special educators to provide a wraparound approach for students to be successful.  We support the growth and development in all aspects of our students’ lives.

    What We Do

Academic Planning: We work with your sending school counselor to ensure you are taking the necessary classes and requirements for graduation. We review every student’s academic progress frequently, and will identify roadblocks to success and create plans with students and families to help assure satisfactory completion.

Post-Secondary Planning: We assist in guiding students in their post-secondary pursuits, whether that is 2-year or 4-year colleges, pursuing industry certificates, or stepping out into careers. We provide industry information and experiences, as well as hosting college reps from a number of industry-related colleges. Our goal is to guide and explain the college applications process, including offering VSAC informational meetings.

Emotional & Social: We meet with students individually and in groups to address issues or concerns that may impact learning, such as anxiety, conflict resolution, stress reduction, and organizational skills. We encourage the demonstration of Employability Skills in programs such as personal accountability, attendance, teamwork and a positive attitude. Please notify your program counselor if you need assistance identifying a local mental health practitioner.
