Library News

  • STEAM is alive and well in April and May!

Posted by Kathy Lawrence on 12/20/2017

In April Learning Center activities and readalouds centered around STEAM--science, technology, engineering, the arts and math.  We introduced KEVA planks and other materials for design challenges.

We talked a lot about having a mindset of curiosity and problem-solving, and of persevering when things don't go as planned.  We read about real-life personalities who faced challenges during their creative processes and went on to do great things.

In May we are focusing on hands-on projects that will reinforce the importance of critical thinking, following directions, and being creative.  We'll be using a different medium each week--from Paper Palooza to Dazzling Duct Tape!
