    Navigator Mission Statement

Our goal is to create a supportive educational environment that promotes strong academic achievement and responsible social behavior. We believe it is the goal of education to expand knowledge in all its variety. Students will have the opportunity to: become a self-motivated learner, think critically, evaluate their own educational progress, work cooperatively, problem solve and communicate effectively.

  • Hello and welcome to Navigator for the 2020/2021 school year.  We are sorry that we were not able to meet you in person for move up day but we are very excited to get to meet and know you when we return to school!  Please watch Welcome to Navigator video to get an idea of who we are and what we teach.

  • Because we were unable to meet in person for a move up day, we were unable to provide you with much of the information that we typically do.  Therefore, we will be mailing several newsletters over the summer.  Our goal is to send these electronically to parents as well as in hard copy if necessary.  The first newsletter will come out on Thursday, June 25th and will include information about materials you will need for 6th grade, summer learning, and basic team information. Another letter will come out in early August that will include which homeroom you are in.  Classes are done differently on the Navigator Team as students do not solely travel with their homeroom. Students will be mixed throughout the day for their core classes (Math, Language Arts, and Science) and only spend a short time in their homeroom in the morning for Morning Meeting.  Be on the lookout for our newsletters.
