    Wrenegade Sports, a Burlington-owned business devoted to creating inimitable experiences for facility-free athletic events (such as bike races, running tours, etc), highlighted a local Essex High School student in a company blog. What a great photo from our 2019 season kickoff party in January!     By becoming a Career Exploration Internship site for Essex High School's Career Center, they're helping high-schoolers gain valuable job skills such as problem solving, communication, decision making, teamwork, and time management. Businesses have various reasons for the partnership: in Wrenegade's calse, "we believe that we can play a role in making our own greater Burlington community (even) better," the company wrote.

    Tate Bostwick, a senior, was the company's first intern in the program, and his first semester, in which he completed a 40-hour internship, was unforgettable for the company.

    "Over the course of the semester, Tate helped out with many hands-on projects and proved to be a motivated and conscientious intern," they wrote in the company's blog for the event Farm to Fork Fondo. He worked across roles within the company and the company's foundation, gaining "exposure to a cross-section of projects and tasks that shed light on various parts of our overall operations."

    "Tate proved to be a valuable asset to us this fall, and we enjoyed the opportunity to share our experiences and mentor him," the blog notes, adding that he's been hired to return for the summer, on staff! (Tate will start college at the University of Kansas come fall, with a double major in business administration and sports management.)

    Wrenegade Sports is pleased to have become a community partner with Essex High School during the fall of 2018, the company wrote.

    "We’re excited for Tate to see a Farm to Fork Fondo event in motion, and for him to see how all the “little stuff” that he helped out with during the off-season will play a role in each and every one of the 2019 events.
