My name is Amanda Lamb and I am originally from Oswego, NY. This is my third year as one of the speech-language pathologists at Essex Middle School. Previously, I worked in Highgate Elementary school for six years. Before becoming an SLP, I was a Chemical Analyst II for a large pharmaceutical company for 7 years, but when they started to downsize, I took matters into my own hands. Based on my love of science and children, I started taking courses in Communication Disorders Sciences. I was drawn to the complexity of communication, as well as the sense of accomplishment and reward of helping people. Since becoming an SLP, I have been fortunate to be able to combine my love of science, technology, math, and language to the students at Essex Middle School. I also co-facilitate a Social Thinking group as well as a weekly GSTA group. I can be reached at alamb@ewsd.org or ext 1544.
