COVID-19 and Our SchoolsYour EWSD nurses are here to support the health and wellness of our entire school community. We are all aware of the prolonged flu season and the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. The District continues to follow preventative and response guidelines offered by the Vermont Department of Health (VDH) and Vermont Agency of Education (AOE).
Your building nurse is available for any questions or concerns you may have regarding any illness or symptoms.

ADL Welcomed Guest Speaker: Loung Ung On Friday, February 21st, bestselling author Loung Ung, returned to ADL. Loung is an author, activist, and lecturer and a graduate of Albert D. Lawton Intermediate School.
Her former teacher, Mr. Gustafson, invited Loung to speak to the entire 6th grade about her books, experiences, and career. Loung's first book, First They Killed My Father, was turned into a movie directed by Angelina Jolie.
Loung was a wonderful speaker, keeping the kids under her spell during her speech. The students asked lots of thoughtful questions, it was a great educational experience for all of us. Thanks for coming back to visit us, Loung!

With 50 years behind the name, the ADL Basketball Tournament is believed to be the oldest middle school basketball tournament in the entire country.
Please see the updated bus schedule for the week of January 16-23. These updates are due to exams at Essex High School, as well as a half-day on Monday, January 20.
The EWSD Annual Meeting and Budget Vote have been postponed for the time being due to the effects of COVID-19 and guidance from Governor Scott's "stay home, stay safe" order.

Peter Drescher has been named the Director of Technology and Innovation for the Essex Westford School District.
FMS students traveled to the Vermont State House, where they spoke to local senators and representatives at the statewide Homeless Awareness Day!
