Introduction to 3-D Solids Modeling with SolidWorks
Introduction to SolidWorks – SolidWorks is an internationally recognized 3-D solid modeling computer software program for designers and engineers. This will be a project oriented course that is designed to develop student proficiency in the basic SolidWorks user’s skills. No prior knowledge of SolidWorks is required for this class, but knowledge of Windows products and internet use is needed. Students will work on projects in class and be able to download a temporary student version of the software to use on compatible home computers (see SolidWorks compatibility info) outside of the class. This course will cover:
- Creating, defining, and dimensioning sketches
- Basic modelling Features: Extrusions, revolves, sweeps, extrude cuts, revolve cuts
- Editing models
- Creating reference geometry
- Simple assemblies
- The basics of 2-D drawing creation
Day: 5 weeks on Monday and Thursday begining March 5 and ending April 5.
Time: 6pm-9 pm
Total Hours: 30
Cost: $650.00 (Includes text, work book and materals) Most have 8 students as a minimum.
