American Computer Science League

  • This club uses primarily the American Computer Science League (ACSL) calendar.   We also have many students who participate in the USACO (USA Computing Olympiad) program.   Both organizations assume you already have the ability to write programs in a current language (VBasic, C++, Scheme, Java), but you can certainly get help and suggestions from other club members or me.

The four one-week contest dates for ACSL are usually in December, January, February and March.   The USACO contest is a web-based activity.   Take a peek at... http://www.uwp.edu/academic/mathematics/usaco/ Keep your eyes and ears on the announcements to hear about contest dates and/or stop by to see me sometime before that.   I look forward to working with you!

    ACSL

ACSL organizes computer science contests and computer programming contests for junior and senior high school students. This year, our 34th year of continuous operation, over 200 teams in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia are participating. ACSL is on the approved activities list of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

    All-Star Contest Schedule

At the end of the year, an All-Star Contest is held at a common site. Invitations to the All-Star Contest are based on cumulative team scores in the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Divisions.
