    All three Kindergarten classes walked to the fire station, Brownell Library and Sam's Scoop Shop!  We had a great time learning about the summer reading program and fire safety.

    We continue to countdown the alphabet to the last day of Kindergarten!  For the letter E, the kids conducted experiments with candy on Tuesday.  They were amazed to see what happens when you just add a little warm water to colorful candy.

    Our class invited second graders to our "All About Oceans" publishing party on Friday.  Each kindergarten child read a book that he/she wrote to five second graders.

  • More Force and Motion!

    Kids used ramps, balls, cars and other objects to explore with force and motion.  Kids made predictions and experimented with many materials to see why certain objects moved quickly, slowly or not at all!

  • Force and Motion Scavenger Hunt

    Kids had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather when searching our playground for signs of force and motion.  Many were surprised to find all sorts of spinning, rolling, bouncing, flying and sliding objects!

  • Writing Workshop

    During writing workshop, students have finished writing informational books all about the ocean. After vacation, they will be writing all about a topic that they choose. They truly are turning into amazing authors!

  • Art Integration

    The kindergarten kids created clay sea turtles to supplement our ocean unit. The class glazed the turtles on Wednesday during an additional art class.  Please be looking for them to arrive home soon!

    The kids take turns using the Google Nexuses during Reading Workshop. When they are not private reading, partner reading or reading in guided reading groups, they read books on RAZ Kids.

    The kids learned about birds and bird nests at our latest four wind presentation.  We were surprised to learn what birds use to make some nests!
