The Essex Westford School District offers school-based prekindergarten programs at Essex Elementary School, Hiawatha Elementary School, Summit Street School, and Westford School.

Eligible students are at least 3 years old on September 1st.

Space is limited in our school-based programs and placement is determined by a lottery draw.

Note: If you are only interested in registering your pre-K student to access Act 166 funding, please refer to our Universal Pre-K/Act 166 page. The information below pertains specifically to pre-K classrooms in EWSD's elementary schools.

• 2023-2024 School Year (next school year)
  • The EWSD is now accepting registration requests for pre-K enrollment for the upcoming school year. Please click on the 23-24 PK Registration Request button below to submit a registration request
  • Registration requests submitted in January and February will be entered into a random lottery drawing held in March
  • An enrollment waiting list is developed during the lottery process, and registration requests received from March 1st onward are added to the waiting list
  • Students with birth dates on/before September 1, 2020 are eligible to register

23-24 PK Registration Request

  • The EWSD is currently operating an enrollment waiting list for all pre-K classrooms in the district's elementary schools. To request that your student's name be added to the current year waiting list, please contact Johanna at jsimmons@ewsd.org
