Public Transportation - Green Mountain Transit (GMT)

  • Effective Monday, March 7th, GMT public transportation route #10 Williston / Essex serving Park Street, Main Street, Center Road, Sand Hill Rd, River Road, and Maple Street will operate at new times.

    Amtrak and Educational Drive at Main Street are the two primary bus stop for EHS.

    Currently, this bus arrives at Amtrak 7:30 AM, and has 1:45 and 3:00 PM departures.

    Effective Monday March 7th, the bus will arrive at Amtrak 7:45 AM, and have 1:45 and 2:45 PM departures. This will affect pickup and dropoff times throughout the route, so please review the schedule in the link or image below and plan accordingly for your student’s stop.

    • Travel on GMT's #10 Essex and #2 Williston Essex Combined is free of charge through June 30th, 2022.
      • GMT will be the busing option for EHS students living within 0.75 miles of these local public bus routes.
      • While our K-8 students have access to yellow school buses, public transportation allows students more flexibility of schedule. Both EMS and ADL are located on GMT's #10.

    The District believes that using public transportation is a life skill, an environmentally conscious choice, and a wise use of taxpayer resources.
    Families will not need to register to ride on GMT. Masks are required on all GMT buses. For more information on GMT and COVID click here.

      • #10 Williston / Essex Combo (formerly Orange / Silver Loop Combined) Serves Park Street, Amtrak, Essex Outlets, Essex Center, Sandhill Road, and Maple Street, operating Monday through Saturday. 
      • #2 Essex (formerly Blue Line) - this route serves Fort Ethan Allen, Pearl Street, and Amtrak 7 days a week.
