Public Transportation - Green Mountain Transit (GMT)
Travel on GMT's Orange / Silver Loop Combined and Blue Line is available free of charge to all EWSD K-12 students to and from school or school functions (athletics, extra curricular activities, etc.). Students simply tell the driver which school they attend. This allows the driver to properly record the trip to be billed to the District.
- GMT will be the busing option for EHS students living within 0.75 miles of the local public bus routes.
- While our K-8 students have access to yellow school buses, the EWSD provides this additional public transportation benefit to allow students more flexibility of schedule. Both EMS and ADL are located on GMT's combined Orange Silver Line.
The District believes that using public transportation is a life skill, an environmentally conscious choice, and a wise use of taxpayer resources.
Throughout COVID-19, public transportation through Green Mountain Transit (GMT) will continue to be available for students. Trips to-and-from school and school-related activities will continue to be free to students. Families will not need to register to ride on GMT. Masks are required on all GMT buses. GMT buses are subject to capacity limits to maximize physical distancing.
