Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Di Vece
Hello, my name is Erica Di Vece and I teach fifth grade here at Founders Memorial. I am originally from Ridgefield, Connecticut but was brought to the green mountain state for my undergraduate work at Champlain College where I majored in Elementary Education. After completing my bachelors, I decided to travel and teach abroad in Gwangju, South Korea. While living and learning abroad I had the great fortune to expand my teaching skills by co-teaching with a variety of foreign teachers. After spending a year in the land of morning calm, I decided it was time to come back to Vermont. I spent time working as a paraeducator in an alternative school program, taught pre-school, was the lead afterschool director of the Burlington Kids program, and taught grades K, and 2 in Swanton, Vermont. During my time in Swanton I started and completed my masters through the Vermont Mathmatics Initiaive.
I now reside in Burlington with my husband, black lab, and son. Together we enjoy hiking, gardening, and cooking what we grow. In the classroom I am passionate about each individual student. I deeply care about growing personal relationships and fostering a sense of independence and personal growth in each student. I am open to comments and help from parents. You know your child best and I ask that you advocate for their needs whenever possible. Together we can work towards creating a positive enviornment where your child can reach their full potential.

Thanks to the generosity of many my donorschose.org project was fully funded and we will now have 9 standing desks in our classroom! Ask your child how their body feels and learns using our standing desks.
