Hello! I'm Meghan McGrath, and I'm thrilled to be joining the ADL community next year.

A little about me: I grew up just outside Philadelphia, PA, and I attended Penn State University. During college I had the incredible fortune of participating in two Outward Bound expeditions, one in Colorado, and one in Florida. After being an Outward Bound student, I worked for Outward Bound for two summers in California. These experiences put me on a path toward becoming an educator, and in particular an educator that values an interdisciplinary approach. After a one year AmeriCorps posting in Portland, OR, I moved to Burlington, VT where I attended the Masters in Teaching Program at UVM. When I completed that program, I was lucky to join the faculty at Vergennes Union High School as a middle school English teacher, and I've worked there for the past 12 years. While at Vergennes, I helped to launch our Genius Hour program, which was one of the most fun things I've done as a teacher!

When I'm not teaching, I love to travel. Some of the interesting places I've visited are: China, Hong Kong, Cuba, Belgium, and Czech Republic. I also have been teaching myself about photography and photo editing for the past few years. I enjoy getting outside in our beautiful state by hiking, skiing, or just taking my dog, Fitzie, for a walk, and I'm a big sports fan. Soccer and football (Go Eagles!) are my favorite sports to watch. Finally, I had a baby boy in October, so learning to be a parent is my latest adventure!

I'm looking forward to meeting staff, students, and families this fall!
