Welcome to First Grade!

I am so excited to be entering my second year at Summit Street School!  What an amazing and welcoming community!  I grew up in Jericho, VT and attended Saint Michael's College where I earned my Bachelor's Degree.  Over the past 12 years, I have taught at a combination of public and private schools in Vermont, Virginia, and Illinois.  I've taught everywhere from 1st grade to 5th grade over the course of my career.  While teaching in Illinois, I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an ELL Endorsement from Concordia University.  I'm excited to be teaching first grade because of the amazing growth first graders show throughout the school year!

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. My husband, Owen, and I were thrilled to move back to Vermont last year because we know that it is the perfect place to raise our children.  Our two boys, Wesley (5) and Emerson (3) have loved every minute of their Vermont lives.  We also have a 9-month-old puppy named Buddy who has been such a fun addition to our family! On the weekends, we can be found hiking, biking, and finding rivers to throw rocks into. 

I am so excited for all of the adventures we will have in 1st grade this year!
