Our class reached the goal of 50 acts of kindness this week! Way to go friends!

We created models of the three types of communities we have been studying. Can you guess which model shows part of an urban, suburban or rural community?

Mathematicians have been busy measuring using rulers and yardsticks. They used what they have learned about inches, feet and yards to make measurement monsters by following specific measurement criteria. 

We had so much fun cheering on the Lady Cats at the basketball game! 

Happy New Year! Students have been busy representing math equations with golden rod pieces in Math Through Art. We sorted our non fiction books into categories for easy book shopping to begin our non fiction reading unit. Scientists concluded our study of Landforms by creating models of the different types of bodies of water and landforms we learned about.

Students enjoyed learning about the types of water and landforms at Mills Riverside Park. We explored the pond and river, and also hiked up the trail looking for signs of animal life and erosion.

Students created shapes with Ms. Nancy during Math Through Art. Then they graphed our class data and added it to the larger, whole second-grade graph which will be displayed in the hallway when it is completed.
