Ms. Rowley

This is my 20th year as an early childhood educator, my 15th year teaching Kindergarten and my 10th year teaching at Essex Elementary School. I have a Master’s degree in Child Development from Tufts University and did my undergraduate work at Bates College.

My philosophy on teaching is first and foremost about building positive relationships with children and families.  To this end, I will seek out your expertise to help ensure a successful and gratifying year for your child.  I strive to create a caring, structured, and safe environment – both physically and emotionally – where children are willing to take risks to learn and grow.

I care deeply about early childhood education, family dynamics, and how to truly change a person’s behaviors.  I like almost anything that keeps me physically active and I strive to work hard every day on the things that don’t come easily to me.  I challenge myself to find the best in others, understand what drives their behaviors, and what I can learn from them.  I seek out friends who make me laugh and at the end of the day, I try not to take myself too seriously.

I live with my two children, Aliza (uh-lee-za) 7 1/2 yrs old and Serena 4 1/2 yrs old, husband, Dan and 2 cats named Vicky and Charlotte.  In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, being outdoors and spending time with my family.
