Prekindergarten at Essex Elementary School

The Essex Westford School District offers school-based pre-Kindergarten programs at Essex Elementary School, Hiawatha Elementary School, Summit Street School, and Westford School.
Eligible students are at least 3 years old on September 1st.
Space is limited in our school-based programs, and placement is determined by a lottery draw each year.

2019-2020 School Year
- The window for requesting a 2019-2020 pre-K slot is now open! Eligible students reside in Essex Junction, Essex Town, or Westford and are at least 3 years old on September 1, 2019.
- Please use this Pre-K Registration Request Form to request that your child is entered into the EWSD school-based pre-K lottery drawing.
- All requests for school-based programs must be submitted by Friday March 1, 2019.
- A random drawing will take place in March, and the district will respond to all requests by April.
Universal Pre-K/Act 166 Funding

Families may register their eligible children to receive Act 166 funding.
This funding will cover 10 hours/week of pre-K tuition at qualified programs throughout our community.

- Registration is open and ongoing for the 2019-2020 school year. Students with birth dates ranging from September 2, 2014 to September 1, 2016 are eligible to register.
- Visit our Act 166 Registration page for more information.
- The school district encourages families to register for Act 166 funding by July 15th.
- Act 166 fund distribution for the 2019-2020 school year is pro-rated based on a September 1, 2019 start date.
- If you are receiving Act 166 funding through EWSD during the 2018-2019 school year, you do not need to re-register for the 2019-2020 school year.
