So much has been happening in our school library! After all the excitement of Peter Pan we focused on the art and craft of picture books using Vermont's Red Clover nominees.  Our schoolwide winner was The Bad Seed.

In all of the grades for the past several weeks we've undertaken STEAM challenges using different materials.  Students have had to be problem-solvers and team players as they navigate building towers and bridges, floating vessels, origami designs, marble mazes, and more.

First graders have been immersed in a new genre--biographies.  They've enjoyed hearing about the contributions of and challenges faced by people like Jacques Cousteau, Robert Goddard, and Bobbi Gibb.

In second grade we're reading multiple versions of Aesop's fables, comparing and contrasting them, and discussing the moral or lesson.

After the spring break, kindergarteners will be doing some bookmaking, first graders will learn to use the visual interface of our catalog, and second and third graders will return to coding practice using a new tool.
