After the holiday break our focus in classes will provide some context and meaning for our upcoming International Dinner.  This year's dinner theme is East Asian cultures since many of our ELL students and families come from that region of the world, particularly China, Taiwan, and the Phillipines.  We'll read folktales from China and Taiwan and learn about some specific aspects of Asian culture from informational books.

We'll also use library time for some tie-in activities related to February's artist-in-residence week with The Very Merry Theater and our production of Peter Pan.  See slideshow above for STEM challenges with a Peter Pan connection.

Our annual look at the art and craft of picture books using Vermont's kid-choice award (Red Clover award) will begin in late January as well.  Watch for a few related book trailers!
