Welcome to Essex Elementary School's library!

    The mission of the EWSD libraries is to create inviting learning environments that inspire and honor curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

    In partnership with students and staff, we support and recognize reading as the foundation for students to become skilled in multiple literacies. We strive to ensure that students become successful lifelong learners.

  • Our Wild West Book Fair is coming! October 17 - 24, 2017
    Saddle Up and Read!

    Students will visit the Book Fair to create their wish lists during school hours. The Fair is open for families to shop starting Tuesday, the 17th at 3:00 p.m.

     The shopping hours for the Book Fair are:

    Tuesday 17th:  3:00 - 7:00 p.m.

    Wednesday 18th:  3:00 - 7:00 p.m.

    Thursday 19th: 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Monday 23rd 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Tuesday 24th 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Place your pre-publication for the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book: The Getaway, which will be released on November 7th. Scholastic has the exclusive paperback at the low price of $8.99.  (Compare to the hardcover list price of $13.95 elsewhere.)

    All funds from this Fair help purchase new materials (books, online subscriptions such as Bookflix, etc.), and author visits for the Learning Center.
