A few weeks ago, our school counselors sent a letter with information and resources for parents about adolescent depression and suicidality. We have been glad to receive phone calls and emails from families reaching out with questions about their students. In an effort to engage families in meaningful dialogue related to raising healthy adolescents, we are partnering with Dr. Jeremy Sibold from the University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Services to host an evening of information and discussion at ADL on June 7th from 6:30-8:00PM in our cafeteria.
We recognize it is a busy time of year, and want to provide any interested parent or guardian with an opportunity to receive helpful information as we head into summer with our kids. The focus will be “Adolescent Depression, Anxiety, and Other Mental Health Concerns: What Does the Research Tell Us about How We Can Best Help Our Teens?” The evening will start with a presentation from Dr. Sibold and feature a panel discussion including Howard Services Clinician Liz Sirrico, ADL School Counselors Nicole Williams and Jessie Librizzi, and School Nurse Jenna Dalla Mura.
Please contact us if you have any questions. We hope to see you on June 7th at 6:30.
