  • School-Based Pre-Kindergarten

    The Essex Westford School District offers free, school-based pre-Kindergarten programs at elementary schools across the district for residents of Essex Town, Essex Junction and Westford. These programs provide 10 hours/week of pre-K. Age requirements vary by school.

    Space is limited in our school-based programs and placement is determined by a lottery draw. The window for requesting a 2018-2019 pre-K slot is now open! Please click the orange button below to submit your request. The deadline for requests is Friday February 23rd.

    2018-2019 Pre-K Lottery Request Form

    The window for entering your child in the EWSD 2018-2019 Pre-K Lottery is January 1-February 23. The lottery draw will be held in March 2018. Registration materials will be mailed to families following this date. For more information regarding this process, please contact Johanna Simmons at jsimmons@ewsd.org or 802-857-2005.

    For information regarding openings for the current school year (2017-2018), please contact your elementary school's main office.


    Community-Based Pre-K/Universal Pre-K/Act 166 

    Families may register their eligible children to receive Act 166 funding. This funding will cover 10 hours/week of pre-K tuition at qualified programs throughout our community.

    Registration for Act 166 is open and ongoing for the 2017-2018 school year. Please note that Act 166 fund distribution is pro-rated based on a September 1st start date. Registration paperwork is available at Central Office-East, 58 Founders Road in Essex. You can also request registration paperwork by contacting Johanna Simmons at jsimmons@ewsd.org or 802-857-2005.

    Registration materials for the 2018-2019 school year will be available in March 2018.
