Pie and Pie Charts - Rescheduled for December 5!

*This event has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 5 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the EHS cafeteria!

November 22, 2019
Don’t miss the first annual EWSD Pie and Pie Charts event! Taste pies with your neighbors and friends while learning about the ‘ingredients’ that go into the District budget and how the ‘pie’ is distributed. This informational event is free and open to the public and will take place on Thursday, December 5 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Essex High School cafeteria.

Anyone can enter a local pie, everyone will get a chance to taste them, and you will be the judge! Categories will include: best overall pie, most unique pie, best crust, and best filling. Winners will receive a gift certificate to a local business.

All Essex Junction, Essex Town, and Westford residents (and taxpayers), EWSD and EWSD legacy district alumni, and bakery owners and employees who fall into any of the above categories are encouraged to enter!

As part of a short budget presentation, EWSD administrators and Board members will look at the factors that go into the planning process including the timeline, parameters, and big-picture revenue/expenditures. There will be time to ask questions after the presentation and Board members will also be available to talk with and ask questions to at the end of the evening.

How do I enter my pie?

Notify EWSD Board member Liz Subin ( that you will be bringing a pie to the event by Wednesday, December 4, 2019. You can then arrive at the event on December 5 by 6:15 p.m. with your pie sliced into approximately 10 pieces to be sure it will be entered into the competition.

If you can’t make it that night, but would still like to enter a pie, you can drop it off in advance at the EWSD District Office East (58 Founders Road) by 3 p.m. on December 5, 2019. The Board will slice and label the pie.

While we will ask participants to label ingredients in the pies entered for allergy/food sensitivities, if you attend and plan on tasting the pies, please do not assume that all pies will have a complete list of ingredients used.
