Sprinkles, frosting and creativity brought mentors and mentees together to decorate cookies on December 6 at Founders Memorial School, as part of the Essex FriendCHIPS Youth Mentoring program.
Did you know that January is National Mentoring Month? This campaign is aimed to help raise awareness of mentoring, recruit mentors, and promote program growth. It was created by Mentor, The National Mentoring Partnership. National Mentoring Month focuses national attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us (individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities and nonprofits) can work together to increase the number of mentors to help ensure positive outcomes for our youth.
Since 1986, Essex CHIPS has been inspiring youth and building healthy communities in Essex Junction, Essex Town, and Westford. The organization serves families in these communities by providing direct youth service programs and facilitating partnerships between organizations.
Mentoring is just one way to give back and promote healthy youth development. Want to make a difference in a youth's life one hour at a time? Contact Eliza Kuchuk (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
