Last week Westford middle school students celebrated their efforts of being safe, kind and responsible with a collaborative building project. Students worked in mixed groups of 5-8th graders in the Father Feeny Feather Duster Challenge. Each group was equipped with a bag of random objects and tasked to create one of 25 items from a list, ranging from a loggerhead turtle wearing goggles to the owlry at Hogwarts. Groups worked for 30 minutes using only their bag of objects and glue to build their creations. Once the building time ended, groups brought their final products to the gym for judging. Groups were judged on their creativity, use of objects and teamwork. In the end three groups were awarded feather duster trophies as well as gift cards for Phoenix Books, Ben and Jerry's and Turner Toys and Hobbies. All of the creations were creative, unique and are now on display in the trophy case for all to see and appreciate. Check out the pictures below to see the fantastic creations.
