October 3, 2018 Daniel Mulhall, Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States, visited Essex High School on October 2 to speak with students in the Global Leadership Program.
Mulhall discussed what it was like to be an ambassador and answered questions from the students, while also talking about how the world has changed during his career. He highlighted that the generation of high school students sitting in front of him has the challenge of shaping the future in a world that is changing so rapidly.
In August of 2017, Mulhall took over as Ambassador to the United States. Before coming to Washington, he served as Ireland's Ambassador in London (2013-17). During his time in Britain, he was a regular speaker on political, literary and historical topics at Universities all over the country, including at Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Durham, King's College London, and the London School of Economics.
