Vermont Career Connect

VSAC’s virtual career exploration event for middle and high school students, is now live at https://www.vsac.org/vermont-career-connect.

This event is produced by VSAC’s GEAR UP program in partnership with the J. Warren and Lois McClure Foundation, Careers CLiC, Northern Vermont University, Northern Vermont AHEC, and the Rutland Region Workforce Investment Board.

On our website you’ll find:

  • A career interest survey for students and more information on the 16 career clusters

  • Links to nearly 100 videos where students can hear directly from people in a wide variety of careers about their work

  • Additional resources for exploring careers and training requirements

  • An activity to help students reflect on the videos they’ve watched and identify next steps in their career planning journey, which we’re hoping can be a resource for their PLPs

We’re also planning a live virtual event on Wednesday, October 28 from 10am-12pm with a number of the presenters who recorded career videos. This will kick off with an interactive session on matching your interests with promising careers, and then students can choose a breakout room (grouped by career cluster) to directly ask presenters questions about their work. Students can sign up for the live event online here (CLICK LINK). Educators are also welcome to join for the live session.
