Hiawatha students participated in their annual Hand-to-Hand Sale. For this event, families are invited to bring in small, well-cared-for, unwanted items for the sale (or monetary donations for the cause).

Students then had an opportunity to select items for their families, and 'purchase' the items with non-perishable items that they brought in. All monetary donations were then used by the first graders to go to Hannaford's to purchase items the Heavenly Pantry needs.

Afterward, the first graders delivered all the collected food and purchased items to The Heavenly Pantry, where they learned about this important community resource.
