CTE Student Creates New District Logo
April 4, 2019
ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. - The Essex Westford School District (EWSD) announced today the launch of a newly redesigned logo. The new District image was developed by Center for Technology senior and Design & Creative Media 2 student Makayla Davis.
The public may have seen the new logo already on the This is EWSD video and on the EWSD budget flyer and annual report, as the District is slowing rolling out the new emblem. The evolved brand identity will officially be changed over for all EWSD schools, communications, and experiences beginning on July 1, 2019.
The logo was redesigned around the concept of being ‘better together,’ with a concept that is simple and elegant, yet uniquely EWSD.
The three leaves remain in the updated version, as they represent the three communities that make up the District. The logo adds a slightly different color scheme that incorporates blue into the font, while an arch has been added to highlight the unification of 10 schools under one district.
"The best thing about our new logo is that it was designed by one of our students. In growing hearts and minds, EWSD has brought three communities together under one system for a better today and tomorrow," said EWSD Superintendent Beth Cobb.
Alternate versions of the logo have also been created which use the elements of the primary logo. These will provide the District with more flexibility when using the new logo in different design settings.
