CTE Program Offerings 

CTE is a full-day career and technical education center. Our student day begins at 8:05 and ends at 2:10. We offer a number of academic classes meant to help students meet their high school graduation requirements. Our technical programs include:

  • Automotive Technology
  • Building Technology
  • Childhood Education & Human Services
  • Computer Animation & Web Design
  • Computer Systems Technology
  • Cosmetology
  • Dental Assisting
  • Design & Creative Media
  • Engineering & Architectural Design
  • Health Professions

Admissions Criteria

  1. VISIT: Students interested in attending CTE must visit the program(s) prior to submitting an application. High school students are encouraged to make visit arrangements through their high school counseling office. 
  2. APPLY: Submit a complete application* to CTE. Applications are accepted beginning January 1st for the following school year; the CTE application deadline is the second Friday in March. (Applications received after this date are considered on a space-available basis).

  1. STEP-UP DAY:  After reviewing applications, qualified applicants are invited to attend Step-Up Day at CTE which is held in March / April (check the web calendar for the date). 
  2. DECISION: Admissions decisions will be made in April and forwarded to sending schools and sent to the applicant. Once the class size is reached and the program is full, additional qualified applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

 

CTE takes steps to assure that the lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in our programs. To assist in assisting English Language Learning students we employ ELL teachers to assist students throughout the school year in the pursuit of program completion and to closely coordinate with students’ high schools.
