Dance Residency: IMPORTANT

Posted by Chrissy Hultgren on 5/27/2022

Hi folks,

Here is a note from Karen Amirault, our dance teacher.

We are excited about the fun dancing we have been doing with our artist-in-residence, Karen Amirault.  She will conclude her eight-day stay at Hiawatha School with two whole-school performances on Thursday, June 2nd. On that day, our students will show the dances they have been working on, Karen will share some of her dances, and there will be a teacher surprise! Family, friends and community are invited to attend 1-2:15PM and/or 6:15-7:15PM.  We have moved the rest of the residency inside, so the performances will be in the school gym.

Students are asked to wear the following “costumes” to school that day (please borrow, do not buy anything).  If any child needs assistance finding or borrowing something, please be in touch with Alice Weston ( or 802-857-7781.

2nd Grade: THE JITTERBUG- wear EITHER white shirts or tee shirts, long ties & pants with the cuffs rolled up to show your white socks OR twirly skirts and ponytails.
