Voices for Education Community Partner Meeting - 09.17.18

On Monday, September 17, Voices for Education held a community partner meeting to begin a conversation around how we can create a welcoming, inclusive place where all who live or work here (especially students) can be successful and contribute to the overall health and well-being of our community. The meeting was very productive, with nearly 30 people in attendance from many different local organizations.

VFE shared a proposal around holding a summit this fall to generate ideas on how we can grow a community where all students and community members have an opportunity to succeed. The partners shared insightful feedback through conversations and helped further shape the next steps in the process.

In each of the last two years VFE has hosted community conversations, which have helped develop a new vision for the District, as well as bring student representation to the EWSD Board, and propose a grading scale change at Essex High School. The connections between the schools and the community have strengthened through these conversations as well as other forums that VFE has facilitated.
