On Tuesday, April 30, two Westford School students were recognized by the Vermont Foreign Language Association in Montpelier.
Creating a Culture of Respect in Learning Communities at Champlain College along with several schools from all over Vermont. It was an all day event that offered educational workshops in the morning and afternoon most led by students. Westford students, Shea Andrews and Rosie Whitney lead one of the afternoon workshops for other middle school students and staff. “I’m so impressed with the time and effort these two students put in to make the workshop engaging and a positive learning experience for those that attended.” School counselor, Stephanie Jones.
Tea with the Principal will be held on the third Thursday of each month from 8:05-8:45 am in the school library. Please come with any questions you may have on any topics.
From the District: All students in grades 3-9 take the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) in spring. EWSD schools will administer SBAC March 13 - June 1. The new Vermont Science Assessment assesses grades 5, 8 and 11. The VTSA will occur April 1 – May 31. FMS students designed instruments out of recycled materials that could play between two and five different notes programmed in Scratch and then when connected to the Makey Makey and their Chromebook, could play many different songs!
Wounded Warrior and para-athlete Christy Gardner, her service dog Moxie, and school therapy dog in training, Lucky Tim, visited Founders Memorial School on April 18.
