Hello Everyone!

My name is Kellie Carpenter. I began working at Hiawatha Elementary in 2014. Over the past eight years, I have worked as an assistant in kindergarten and first grade. I absolutely loved working in a variety of classrooms while also getting to know students and families. I have patiently waited for the opportunity to have my own classroom here at Hiawatha because I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. Now this is my second year in the classroom. I feel even more fortunate to be teaching kindergarten because that is my true passion. Watching the monumental growth of students during this year is incredible. 

I live in Essex Junction with my adorable cat, Sweets. I have been busy renovating my house since I bought it two years ago. I am so excited for the year and can’t wait to get to know all of my students and families. We are going to have so much fun together!
