Hi! My name is Mrs. Furniss.  I am so excited to be entering my 17th year of teaching, 14 of which have been at Hiawatha!  I love teaching third grade, and most of all I LOVE  being a part of the growth and development of the children I work with.  I grew up in Essex, and I feel very fortunate to be a teacher in this wonderful community!

Outside of school, I am usually busy with my three children, Mr. Furniss, and our dog, Izzy.  Some of the things we like to do together are being outside, whether it’s playing basketball in our driveway, going for bike rides and walks, or sitting by the campfire in our yard, playing games, and visiting with other family members.  My two favorite animals are horses and dogs!
