Model Magic Finger Puppets
Hiawatha artists have finally finished their Square1Art masterpieces. They have been working so hard, so it was time to create something exciting this week... model magic finger puppets! Although students could choose to make something else, most of them decided to make a fun finger puppet using mixed media. They had tons of materials to "shop for" and choose from. If students finished before art class was over, they drew a picture of their puppet character. Students had a blast and are eager to work with other types of clay in the coming weeks.

COLOR

Hiawatha artists have been exploring the art element of color. Students have been taking the role of "scientists" as they experiment with color mixing. Students will be using their knowledge of color theory in upcoming projects. Great work artists/scientists!

2nd Grade Classroom Door Murals
The door murals are finished. Great work by second grade muralists!!!

As you may have noticed, second graders have been working on painting their classroom doors. Each and every second grade muralist has been kind and safe during this project. They are doing their best and it's really showing! Thank you to all the volunteers who came and helped with this project. We couldn't have done it without you.

Here are our final mural designs! These designs were based off each and every student's sketches. Muralists will begin the painting process next week, and continue throughout the month of October.

2nd Grade Muralists Plan Designs

2nd graders are busy sketching out design ideas. During the upcoming month of October, they will be outside painting their classroom doors! Each class is planned based around our schoolwide themes: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Your Best.
