Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) Training Program

The LNA Training Program is approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing  and prepares adults to pass the Vermont approved exam required to obtain a license as a nursing assistant in Vermont. The course focuses on the essentials of safe and effective practices for care in a healthcare facility setting.  Students will learn the basics of assisting patients, body mechanics, ethics and communication.

The program will be: 80 hours of classroom/lab instruction delivered on-site and in a nursing facility. 

In order to be accepted into the program, students must have earned a high school diploma, GED, or successfully passed an assessment of English literacy and basic math skills given by Vermont Adult Learning. There is no cost for this assessment but you must call Julie DiPietro at 802-735-0408 to schedule an assessment time. The textbook for this course is written at a level suitable for high school/college graduates. If you have a high school diploma or a GED but still have questions about your math and literacy skills, please schedule an assessment.

You must submit a copy of your high school diploma, GED or VAL assessment results along with the tuition payment to finalize acceptance into the program. Students must be 18 by the time the course is completed.  Students who meet all the prerequisites listed above are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Day/Time: Class meets at CTE in Essex Junction on Monday and Wednesday, 5pm - 9pm beginning September 9, 2024. 10 weeks.   

Cost:   $1,650 includes books and $200 testing fee. The student is responsible for $32 Nursing Board fee and $35 background check fee.
