Congratulations to Stacey Mead for being recognized as this year's UVM Outstanding Educator!
Every year, the College of Education and Social Services at the University of Vermont, together with Vermont supervisory unions and school districts, the Vermont Agency of Education, and the Vermont NEA, join to honor the accomplishments of our state’s outstanding educators.
"Stacey is a relationship-first and data-driven teacher. She is a leader not only in our building as the first great team leader, but also in our District. Stacey is a Responsive Classroom trainer who has supported hundreds of teachers in our District with creating intentional and successful learning communities".
"Stacey's expertise is in creating learning environments that are welcoming and successful for all learners. She takes ownership of all of her students at every level of their needs. Stacey puts in the time to ensure she is up to speed on best teaching practices, as well as the research around content we deliver, as well as the programs used to support that content. All of Stacey's instruction is based on the data she collects from students. She has been a leader in identifying how to collect SEL data in an effective and usable way to improve student outcomes".
"Stacey is a PLC leader that the entire building (as well as teachers in other buildings) looks to. She always has her door open and is willing and excited to collaborate. She also leads by example in the way she communicates professionally, as well as the huge amount of time she puts into thoughtful and honest family communication".
Our EWSD teachers will be formally celebrated during the 44th annual UVM Outstanding Educator Awards in November at the Grand Maple Ballroom of Dudley H. Davis Center.
