Founders Memorial School recently received recognition from the State of Vermont's Interim Secretary of Education for maintaining its Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Below is the acknowledgment letter:

Dear Principal Jablonski,

Congratulations on the impressive efforts of you and your staff to support students and families/caregivers by maintaining your Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) implementation during the 2022-2023 school year.

As Interim Secretary, I recognize the importance of prioritizing social, emotional, behavioral learning and well-being to achieve success for all learners. I thank and congratulate you and your school community for your focused efforts to utilize, sustain, and/or improve your PBIS systems, data, and practices. The recognition you received was based on the interventions and support you delivered to students and communities to achieve positive outcomes this school year. Your team maintained PBIS as a priority, engaged students and families/caregivers, improved school climate, and considered issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Perhaps most importantly, your team reflected on your learnings from last year and considered what was most important to bring into this school year.

Your school was recognized during the Annual Vermont PBIS Leadership Forum on October 12th and highlighted in the 2022-23 BEST Annual Report, which can be found on the VTPBIS website at www.pbisvermont.org. Your stories and data will be highlighted as best practices for other Vermont schools to learn from and use in planning. Congratulations on a job well done!

Sincerely,
Heather A. Bouchey, Ph.D.
Interim Secretary of Education
