Liz is also the Professional Development Coordinator for the VSLA and created multiple opportunities for its members this year.
Here are a few things that were said about her in the nomination process:
βLiz is an incredible advocate for libraries. She is passionate, eloquent, and dangerously well-read.β
βLiz is a fearless advocate for her students and fellow librarians, always standing up for what they need. Her inclusive, empathetic spirit shines through in a library that truly reflects the richness of diverse voices and experiences. Her work doesnβt just support her community β it inspires and uplifts everyone around her.β
βThose lucky enough to work closely with Liz are better librarians because of her example.β
From a former student - βMrs. V fosters an inclusive environment for all people who enter the library. She is good at approaching students in a judgment-free way, corrects behavior in an extremely sensitive manner, and is just really fun to talk to and hang out with.β
