EHS student, Roland Laverty, won first place at the annual Rotary Speech Contest for his speech explaining how we can be instruments of peace. Roland won $200 and advances to the next round later this month. Jiya Asher was first runner-up, winning $100. Both are pictured with Rotarian Amy Jackman.
In total, six EHS students wrote and delivered speeches explaining how they can be instruments of peace at the March 4 Essex Rotary meeting.
