The Essex Westford School District is thrilled to announce that we have found the ideal candidate to lead Essex Middle School as the Interim Principal through June of 2024.
We are delighted to introduce you to Brian Clark, who will take on this important role. What sets Mr. Clark apart is that he is a well-respected member of our School District, currently serving as Assistant Principal at Albert D. Lawton. This is Brian’s fifth year in the EWSD. His familiarity with our District, vision, values, and the unique qualities that make our educational community so special is a tremendous advantage. He understands the systems we have in place and the support that we offer our schools.
Brian brings experience and a deep commitment to fostering the growth and success of our students. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, a passion for education, and a genuine care for the well-being of our students and staff. We are fortunate to have him joining EMS as we navigate this transitional period.
We believe this change presents a unique opportunity to build stronger ties between schools within our District, creating an environment that promotes collaboration and innovation for the benefit of all our students. We are confident Mr. Clark will lead EMS with dedication, compassion, and a solid commitment to our EWSD vision.
We encourage you to warmly welcome Mr. Clark, as he will begin at EMS on Monday, November 13. His approachable and caring demeanor will make him a valuable addition to the school community.
We also want to express our gratitude to Jackie Tolman and Suzanne Gruendling for their outstanding leadership over the past several weeks. The District will continue to support Brian, the EMS students, families, and staff throughout the school year.

I also want to remind everyone that we will conduct a full search for an EMS principal this winter. That principal will begin July 1, 2024.
