Team Equinox at EMS participated in the Trout in the Classroom (TIC) program this year. Through TIC, classrooms get 100 brook trout eggs from the Vermont hatchery in January and they raise them until it is time to release them into a local stream. Along the way, students learn about water quality, fish life cycles, and riparian habitats. Team Equinox successfully raised and released 72 trout into the Browns River on May 28.

EMS student, Brendan Keefe, participated in the Vermont's National History Day competition at the University of Vermont. He did an amazing job presenting his project around how mold and penicillin revolutionized medicine. Vermont History Day is an education program that encourages students to develop research and critical thinking skills through project-based learning and studying history. Students are then able to share their projects at the annual state contest. The theme for 2024 was "Turning Points in History". 👏👏
