Thomas Fleming School was awarded $1,484 through the Community Giving Grant by the North Country Federal Credit Union to fund a variety of jumbo yard games for students to utilize.
The North Country Federal Credit Union’s grant program offers funding to 501(c)3 non-profit organizations in northern Vermont and its neighboring counties for programs and projects that help provide the tools and opportunities for communities and their members to thrive and experience safe, enriched lives.
When considering requests, North Country Federal Credit Union looks for projects and initiatives that remove the barriers to health, wealth, and a sense of community. The goal of this program is to engage learners and promote social and academic skills. The project goals will be met by having students use the materials. The goal will be measured by asking the students to brainstorm a list of reasons why they think playing games while outside throughout the year has helped them socially and academically.
