Fleming school from above

Fleming School participates in PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). This means we follow PBIS guidelines to create a school environment that is calm, safe and welcoming to all. PBIS recognizes that positive behavior can be taught and supported in school. We strive to help every student develop self regulations skills to make positive choices. As a result, instructional time is used effectively, and the overall environment is calm, safe and focused on learning.

September focused on learning our Fleming Fundamentals: Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Others, and Take Care of Our Community. We discussed what this looks and sounds like during our morning meetings, announcements, and assemblies.

How does it work? After learning the fundamentals, students are recognized for their positive choices by receiving a Fleming Falcon Feather (card). These are collected in the classroom “nest.” When 100 cards are collected, they have earned an egg which is placed in the school nest. After the egg goal is reached the whole school celebrates! So far we have earned Skittle Explosion Day and Stuffie Day! Students we will be participating in a poll in the coming month to give their input on our future celebrations.

Ask your student what PBIS means to them. How can we all contribute to a positive school atmosphere?

Thank you for supporting your student(s) in our fundamentals: Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Each Other, and Take Care of Our Community.
