The EWSD Music Department presents the Band Prism Concert! 🎻🎷 Students from grades 7-12 will be performing together on Tuesday, October 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

In 2013, Thomas Fleming School students began fundraising to support the education of one student in Tanzania. His name is Elisha Mgala, and he is now off to university.

🗓️ The EWSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council will host a virtual meeting on Monday, October 12, beginning at 6 p.m. All are invited to attend. During this meeting, you will hear updates from the EWSD administration, identify priorities for the year ahead, and discuss what matters most to the EWSD community. The EWSD Music Department presents the Fall Prism Concert! ADL, EMS, and EHS choir students will come together to perform on Wednesday, October 14, in the EHS Auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m. 🎶🎤

Our EWSD Facilities team recently completed Stop the Bleed training through a partnership with Essex Rescue and UVM Medical Center. This hands-on training gives our staff the knowledge and skills to respond to serious bleeding emergencies and help keep one another and our students safe until additional help arrives.

The new EWSD All-Access Pass gives community members age 65+ free admission to EWSD-sanctioned events, including school musicals, concerts, athletic events, and more.

Fleming student artists have been busy settling into their new art studio space, getting comfortable with studio routines, and mastering foundational techniques like gathering materials and working with watercolors! 🎨🖌️🫟

To kick off the year, students dove into a well-known art room favorite project that explores how art can express personal identity through line, symbolism, and Surrealism. Inspired by artist René Magritte and utilizing a special "All About Me... Lines!" code, students integrated expressive line patterns and personal symbols into their compositions, sharing unique stories about who they are.

The Essex Westford School District was featured in the latest edition of Business View Magazine as part of its 'Best in Education Vermont' section. The piece highlights EWSD's efforts to build educational pathways for every learner.

As we settle into the school year, a friendly reminder that EWSD school grounds, including fields and playgrounds, are not open to the public during the school day. Please leave your four-legged friends at home while school is in session and enjoy one of the many other great places in our community to walk your pup. Several relatives of Thomas Fleming, the school’s beloved former custodian and namesake, stopped by for a tour, including grandchildren and cousins. Many of them also attended Fleming as students themselves! It was wonderful to hear their memories of Thomas Fleming and the time they spent in the building, and to share a little of the school’s history with those who have such a special connection to it.
