Dawn Irwin (DI): “I am a licensed early educator that has been teaching in the field of early childhood education for thirteen years. I am also the owner and director of a small early childhood education program in Essex. I am also a mom of two young children that are students in the Essex Westford School District. I believe my unique experiences and expertise in early childhood education will bring a new voice and a fresh perspective to the Essex Westford School Board."

What motivated you to want to become an EWSD Board member?

DI: “I decided to run for the School Board because I believe the early education perspective I bring to the table will be beneficial to the district, especially as the pre-k landscape continues changing in Essex and throughout the State."

What is the most important responsibility of a school board?

DI: “I believe the most important responsibility of a school board is to keep our children's educational experiences and aspirations accessible, approachable, and equitable for all."
