CNP Award Winners

Congratulations to the members of the EWSD Child Nutrition Program who were honored by the School Nutrition Association of Vermont on May 6 in an awards ceremony held at EHS!

  • Jayne Airoldi in Westford earned the Serving up Excellence Award for Supervised Staff. This award goes to an employee who makes the difference between an average program and an outstanding one through customer service, interest in young people, creativity, participation in professional growth and training, and a willingness to face challenges on a daily basis.

  • Meghan Martin received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Directors or Managers. This award is for a director or manager whose efforts exemplify positive attitudes, creativity, and expertise regarding the challenge of providing nutrition services to Vermont students, especially in times of elevated standards, fewer resources, and, recently, a pandemic.

  • EWSD Board Chair Robert Carpenter was honored with the School Nutrition Leadership Award. School administrators eligible for this award can be credited with understanding the important role that school nutrition programs play in student success and who promote and support these programs to thrive in their school communities, ensuring that students are well fed.

  • For a second year in a row, the EWSD Child Nutrition Program was named the School Nutrition Program of the Year. This award is for either a school kitchen team, SFA, or multi-district entity. It was established to recognize the efforts of a team that has distinguished itself with a spirit of excellence amongst the professional community of school nutrition programs in the state of Vermont.
